They will play all your favorite funk, soul, blues, R&B and rock! Come find the groove with this great line-up!

Umpqua Bank, Arcata. 

We are excited to get back to our tradition of yearly membership shows, and as we reflect back on our history of Spring Flings during this time of year, we think May will be the perfect time for all of us to come together for this special show! The show is limited to WCA members only, and your support is very much appreciated and needed.


Individual Membership is $30, Student Membership is $25.
Entry Days will be:
Monday, May 6th, from 9 am – 5 pm,
Tuesday, May 7th 10 am – 12 pm, No entry fee! 
We can accept 1-2 pieces that are ready to hang. Walls only, no sculpture. The exhibit will run May 10- July 5, 2024.

RLAD and Christopher Boa: Sax at the Edge

Get down, tap your toes and enjoy! Christopher Boa has his roots in reggae but quickly evolved his sound to include funk, afrobeat and jazz. With a long list of local and regional projects under his belt including Bump Foundation, Afromassive, Sun Hop Fat and Moogot2, he is is currently writing a new Album for Sun Hop Fat as well as his own acid jazz ep. He has has played with the likes of Seun Kuti, Fred Wesley, Ray White (Zappa) George Porter Junior, Brian Haas, Lettuce, and toured with Monophonics, and Polyrhythmics. He has a distinct voice both lyrical and at times full of passion emotion and edge- always searching, reaching for that moment when he disappears and only the music remains. RLAD is Tim Randles, piano, Ken Lawrence, electric bass, Mike LaBolle, drums and Doug Marcum, guitar.

LodeStar continues their tradition with ‘Original Rockin’ Cosmic Folk Grass’ with their Annual Birthday Celebration Show and Tribute to Linda Faye Carson. From the folksy, back porch to the hinterlands- hear an eclectic mix of folk-rock with an indigenous element, featuring Goodshield Aguilar (Vocals, guitar, banjo), Caterina Delaisia, Keyboard/vocals, Rob Diggins, synth-violin, Jolie Einem, bass, and Alex Litzenger, drums.

Cover: suggested donation $5-10. No one turned away. Soul-A-Mente is Goodshield with Mignon Geli, flute.

Music will be flying at Trinidad Town Hall as RLAD jazz quartet and featured artist Rob Diggins, synth-violin, present their program J.G. “Jes Grew” Bach and Jazz Fusion

Learn a little background about tunes of Chick Corea, John Coltrane, Michael Brecker, Joe Henderson, Fred Hersch, J.G. “Jes Grew” Bach, Angela Bofill, Steve Erquiaga, Joe Sample, Jay Beckenstein, Freddie Hubbard, Don Grolnick and Rob Diggins, while groovin’ to this uncommon and amazing music!
